Collaborative Classrooms

Collaborative classrooms bring together two or more teachers with students to create unique learning experiences. This allows teachers to meet the instructional needs of each student and provide opportunities for choices in learning.

Inquiry Based Learning

Inquiry-based learning is an approach to learning that emphasizes the student’s role in the learning process. Rather than the teacher telling students what they need to know, students are encouraged to explore the material, ask questions, and share ideas.

Zaharis Broadcasting

The Zaharis Broadcast Channel is a student-run, daily news show. Fifth and sixth grade students write scripts for news, sports, weather, and "what's happening around Zaharis" and perform them live each morning. Students behind the scenes run cameras, sound equipment, and teleprompters. Each weekday, a different crew produces the show. In all, about 50-75 students are involved each semester.
